Welcome to the KNIME Server E-Learning Course for Data Scientists. The goal of this course is to give you an introduction to the different features of KNIME Server. But first of all what is KNIME Server?
KNIME Server - the complementary tool to KNIME Analytics Platform - is the enterprise software for team-based collaboration, automation, management, and the deployment of data science workflows as analytical applications and services. KNIME Server is available in three different editions. Find out which is the right one for your team by having a look at all the features.
The course is made up of three chapters: Collaboration, Automation and Deployment, and Management.
Chapter one covers the collaboration features of KNIME Server. The first step to enabling collaboration and sharing knowledge within your team via KNIME Server, is to connect to it. From here you are able to deploy your workflows and share components. You’ll learn how to connect to KNIME Server from KNIME Analytics Platform and how to upload and share workflows, workflow groups, components, and data to the shared repository. To control the execute, read, and write permissions for your projects, you’ll learn how to set access rights for items you uploaded to KNIME Server.
Chapter two explains the automation and deployment features including all the different options to execute workflows on KNIME Server. You’ll learn how to execute workflows on KNIME Server - either immediately, or scheduled for a one-time or periodic execution. This chapter will also cover the Remote Workflow Editor and the KNIME WebPortal. The Remote Workflow Editor allows you to edit workflows remotely on KNIME Server. The KNIME WebPortal allows you, as well as the business analysts, domain experts, and others in your team, to execute and interact with workflows via a web browser. Lastly, you’ll learn how to seamlessly deploy workflows as industry-standard web services from KNIME workflows via REST API in order to build out your data science infrastructure.
Chapter three covers the different management functionalities such as versioning on KNIME Server and how you can use the Workflow Difference and Node Comparison views to detect differences between workflows.
We hope this course helps you in getting started with KNIME Server!
