Discovering Knowledge from Text and Leadership from Networks
Text Mining is the art of turning text into data for further analysis i.e. the process of retrieving quality information from text. At this meetup we would like to present two talks on this subject.
Our guest, Frank Dullweber from Boehringer Ingelheim will be talking about how extraction and visualization of important terms and co-occurrences can reveal interesting insights and how the identification of important authors based on the mining of networks of co-authors of PubMed articles support target discovery research.
The second talk, by Kilian Thiel from KNIME, discusses sentiment analysis of free-text documents, which is a common task in the field of text mining. Here, predefined sentiment labels, such as "positive" or "negative" are assigned to texts, for example reviews of products, movies, or articles, etc. to reveal the essence. He will be showing how the KNIME Text Processing Extension can be used to this purpose in combination with traditional KNIME learner and predictor nodes.
Before the talks starts, at 7:00pm, there will be a quick introduction to KNIME for those who do not know it yet!
