Visualizing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic with KNIME

April 7, 2020 - Online

In these times we all think of just one thing, and from many KNIME users we know that many of you want to use KNIME to visualize data around the COVID-19 pandemic.

You are not alone - we did that as well and have built workflows to create a number of helpful visualizations. By obsessively watching the news, and following posts and tweets around #COVID19, we also learned a thing or two about a few new visualization techniques.

In this webinar, we would like to share a few dedicated components to visualize the hourly-updated data from the 2019-nCoV Data Repository by John Hopkins CSS. This will include linear and logarithmic scaled charts as well as charts using modified data so that “days from onset” country comparison charts can be created. Various bar charts as well as both world and continent choropleth charts will be shown.

The workflows are available for you to download from the KNIME Hub here so that you can try them out using open source KNIME Analytics Platform. We are hoping the KNIME community will take these, extend them and possibly even share their own visualizations.

We hope these workflows save you time.

Join us to learn more about visualization techniques and the corresponding components.
