KNIME® Server

KNIME Server is built to help teams work better together. From small groups to global companies, KNIME Server extends the power and flexibility of KNIME Analytics Platform beyond individual data scientists to everyone in your company. It provides various collaboration, deployment, and automation functionalities, giving you more freedom and flexibility.

KNIME Extensions and KNIME Supported Extensions

Among the many KNIME extensions are integrations with prominent open source projects. KNIME Supported Extensions are integrations of well known open source projects into the KNIME Analytics Platform. These are primarily maintained by the KNIME team but the main functionality depends, of course, on the great contributions from others - thank you!

Scripting Integrations: KNIME Analytics Platform provides a coherent set of functionality but can't and doesn't want to replace the other great projects for data science out there: The R and Python integrations allow pieces of R or Python code out there to become an integral part of a KNIME workflow, for instance to build a predictive model, apply that model to new data or just to create other types of visualizations. See this blog post on how the recently updated Python integration works together with KNIME.

Big Data: The Big Data Extensions integrate the power of Apache Hadoop and Spark with the ease-of-use of KNIME Analytics Platform. They consist of two complementary node libraries: KNIME Big Data Connectors enable you to import/export HDFS data and perform SQL analytics within Hive and Impala through a series of KNIME nodes. And KNIME Extension for Apache Spark enables you to create and run Spark jobs for data transformation and model learning through another set of KNIME nodes.

Machine Learning and AI: With our recent addition of an H2O integration, you can now also reach out to this high performance machine learning library through KNIME nodes. Deep Learning is also part of the mix, of course. A number of nodes allow you to read, create, edit, train, and execute deep neural networks within KNIME Analytics Platform. Through Keras, users have access to a variety of different state-of-the-art deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow, CNTK, and others.

Complex data types and more: A number of additional extensions wrap around other libraries to allow for network, text, image, and document analysis (JSON and XML support are also part of that category). There are also plenty of other extensions that stand on the shoulder of great open source projects such as the Weka integration for many more data mining algorithms, several JavaScript views relying on great community libraries, and many other nodes that add functionality to KNIME Analytics Platform by integrating existing libraries and tools.

Community & Partner Extensions

In addition to all the above, there is a large ecosystem of community and third-party extensions to KNIME Analytics Platform.

You can package your own code into KNIME by using the KNIME SDK environment. While you are at it, consider contributing it to the KNIME community by contacting us here or on the forum.
