KNIME Reporting Overview

From KNIME workflows to comprehensive reports

The goal of KNIME Reporting is to provide advanced reporting functionality for KNIME. KNIME Reporting allows the usage of KNIME workflows as the input for reports. Report templates can be designed within a dedicated KNIME perspective. The actual generation and viewing of the report is accomplished in KNIME or in combination with the KNIME Report Server via a web browser. When executing the report template parameters can be entered by the user in order to confine the data used by the report. The workflows and reports are respectively created by a power-user. Normal users can access the web-based report template repository, which enables them to generate the report, i.e. the underlying workflow is executed, the data is retrieved and the report is generated and displayed.

Reporting Products

KNIME Report Designer

Based on a tight BIRT integration generation of reports using KNIME workflows as data input is enabled. KNIME Report Designer is a free extension to KNIME Desktop.

KNIME Report Server

Based on the KNIME Server technology KNIME Server Lite allows power users to store KNIME workflows on a central server. End users can access the server via their web browser and launch the report creation. The final report is then exported to the users PC in the desired format.
